Anti-ShockValve
The Dominator Anti-Shock Valveenables the pump to start smoothly and gradually, and thuseliminate shock load conditions which could cause damage todiaphragms and other moving parts. With a smooth start the risk forvibration damages on the pipe system and the pipe fastening will beminimized. The risk for cavitation during start-up is alsominimized with a smooth start, especially when pumping high viscousproducts. The Dominator Anti-Shock Valve isavailable in two sizes and designs:
MAC15E – ½” withsolenoid valve
MAC15P – ½”pneumatic
Max. air flow 2500l/min
MAC25E – 1” withsolenoid valve
MAC25P – 1”pneumatic
Max. air flow 5000l/min
DOMINATOR ELECTRIC/PNEUMATIC ANTI-SHOCK VALVE
The DominatorAnti-Shock Valve enables the compressed air togradually increase in pressure until the desired working pressureis reached. The start-up time is adjustable from 0-30 seconds, butthe shut-off is instantaneous. The normal start-up time for a Dominator diaphragm pump is 2 to 5seconds, depending on pump size, viscosity of the pumped liquidetc.
The DominatorAnti-Shock Valve was originally developed for usewith air operated diaphragm pumps, but it is ideally suited when agradually start is preferable to avoid initial shock loadconditions, e.g. in air motors and piston pumps.
The DominatorAnti-Shock Valve may be operated manually, orremotely with either a solenoid valve or a pneumatic valve.
The Dominator Anti-Shock Valve isprotected by patent in many industrializedcountries.

Installation instruction
The Anti-Shock Valve shall be mounted directly on or near the pump.If a lubricator is used, it shall be placed nearest the pump (seesketch below). The compressed air shall be clean and of goodquality (if the air quality is poor, the use of a filter andpossibly a water separator is recommended).
Set the desiredworking pressure with the pressure regulator (max. 10 bar). Neveruse higher compressed air pressure than what is stamped on the typeplate of the pump.
The setting of the start-up time is made with the adjustment screwwith securing, turn clockwise to increase the start-up time. Normalsmooth start-up time for a Dominator diaphragm pump is 2 to 5seconds.
The start-up time is adjustable from 0-30 seconds. When a solenoidvalve is used check that its voltage is correct for theinstallation.
If a pneumatic start-up is preferable, a ventilating valve shall beused. Connect the pilot-air to the 1/8” connection.
(See the marking on the Anti-Shock Valve.)

Note:The manometer forworking pressureshows a littlelower pressure thanthe manomenter onthe pressure regulator.
